The Department of Languages, in collaboration with the KSWDC Women's Cell, organized a seminar on Kerala Renaissance on November 17, 2023, at 10:00 AM. Dr. Balan C, former Director of the Department of History and Heritage Studies at Kannur University, served as the resource person. The audience was addressed by Principal Dr. Devasia M D. Bodhi Club, Sargasamgamam and Library of the college conducted a commemorative event dedicated to the renowned Malayalam poet and lyricist Sri. Vayalar Ramavarma on the 27th of October 2023, in the Seminar Hall of the college starting at 2:00 pm. The highlight of the event was a singing competition that revolved around songs composed by Vayalar himself. The competition featured the performance of 10 talented students. The panel of judges included Dr. Jijikumari T, the Head of the Department of Development Economics, Dr. Vinod N V, the Head of the Department of Microbiology, and Ms. Unnimaya, an alumna of the college. Ramprasad A, hailing from the Department of Physics, emerged as the first-place winner, while Amrutha Pavithran and Anjana M V, both from the Microbiology department, secured the second and third positions, respectively. The valedictory function was graced by the presence of Dr. Asha Chacko the Vice Pincipal of the college, who presided over the proceedings. Aswin Kumar A. K. from Physics department, representing the Bodhi club delivered a commemorative speech on the poet. Dr. Vinod N V and Librarian Sri. Suresh Kumar V K felicitated the event. The student members of the club performed a captivating dance adaptation of Vayalar's poem, "Sargasamgeetham ." Approximately 100 students participated in the event making it a vibrant and memorable tribute to the great poet Sri. Vayalar Ramavarma.

Our country is celebrating Teacher's day on 5th Septemebr every year, the birthday of First Vice President of our Country, philosopher, teacher, writer, and second President of our Country Dr. Sarvepally Radhakrishnan. from 1962 onwards we are celebrating the teacher's day. on this auspecious day, Club of Education in Human Values of St. Pius X College Rajpauram conducted a programme by the name "Acharya Devo Bhava"- an honouring programme to our teachers. Pincipal-in-charge Sri. BIju Jospeh expressed felicitation to the function. Our senior faculty and head of the department of Microbiology, Dr. Sarala Gopalakrishnan shared their experience of teacher's day as a student and a teacher. An online Quiz program titled ‘Independence Day Quiz 2021’ was conducted by SPEF on 15 th August 2021 at 10:30 am as a part of India’s 75 TH Independence Day celebration. The 15 minutes quiz program with 30 questions was intended for students in the college only. Owing to the cooperation received from all the 7 departments of the college the program was a success with the participation of 46 students from various departments. The winners of the Quiz Programme are Aswin.S- 3 rd DC Physics, Parvathy S Nair- 2 nd DC Economics and Arun P 3 rd DC Physics securing first second and third positions respectively.
The PG Department of Development Economics conducted a Student Development Programme( SDP) a certificate programme of ten days from 19th July 2021 to 30 July 2021 on Mutual Funds,Share marketing , and it's functioning - in association with Bombay Stock Exchange Broker's Forum - Make them Employable. Dr.Aditya Srinivas, Cheif Economist of BSE handled the class. 139 students registered for the programme and among them 59 students successfully completed the course and obtained the certificate. Moreover, they sent a letter of Appreciation to the programme coordinator Dr.Jijikumari T, Head of the department.

Fourteen renowned plenary speakers from premier National and International Universities, R & D centers and industries have confirmed their participation and they will be delivering the lectures on various topics of emerging trends and future perspectives in various multidisciplinary areas. The webinar series also incorporates " Round Table Sessions" which throw light on the various socio-cultural aspects of the contemporary society.
PG Dept of Development Economics and SPEF jointly organised a webinar on the topic "Importance of soft skills in personal & professional life and job opportunities in current scenario in association with AVUDHA institute, Info park, Kochi on 28-7-2021 Wednesday. The meeting was inaugurated by the Principal Sri.Biju Joseph. The Resource person was Ms.Suhaila Hashim , Career Expert and area business manager of Avodha. The function was felicitated by Ms.Amala George, SPEF coordinator. Education in Human Values ( Value Club) is a dynamic club functioning in our college started it's function this year with a Quiz Competition on the topic Environment in the World Environmental Day,June 5th. Around 62 students from different departments made registeration and 32 students participated the competition. Winners were officially declared by an online meeting consists of participants and teachers. Principal Mr.Biju Joseph congratulated all the participants. Dr.R Ranjith was a student of Development Economics of 2010-13 batch at St.Pius X College. He was not only good in academics, but in co- curricular activities. Bhoomithrasena Club and Nature Club of St. Pius X College Rajapuram jointly organized an awareness program ‘Ente Puzha’ on March 22 nd - the world water day. College principal Dr. George Mammen inaugurated the program. Mr. Eby Emmanuel P, Secretary ‘Kerala Nadee Samrakshana Samithi’ was the resource person. He is the co-ordinator of the Meenachil river rejuvenation campaign. Mr. Eby talked about the importance of protecting a river and motivated the students by sharing his 26 years of experience in this field. As a part of the world water day celebrations our students have made videos and presentations describing a river in their locality. They elucidated the present condition of the river and gave suggestions to rejuvenate it in case the river is polluted. The students conversed their findings with Mr. Eby Emmanuel and clarified their doubts. India is celebrating every February 28th as 'National Science Day' to commemorate the discovery of 'Raman Effect' (Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930). Science Club, St. Pius X College Rajapuram has decided to conduct an 'Online Poster Making Competition' to look at the imagination, vision, skills, scientific and technological knowledge of the students through their novel posters. The theme for the National Science Day (NSD) 2021 is "Future of STI: Impacts on Education, Skills and Work".The details are mentioned in the brochure.
PG Dept of Development Economics conducted one national seminar on the topic "Agricultural Policies in India - Past & Present - A Comparison" on 31st January 2021, Sunday . The programme was inaugurated by the Principal - in- charge Dr.George Mammen. We had very eminent Resource Person Sri. Soddik R, Asst.Professor, Dept. Of Economics, Kariacattom Campus , Kerala University. He was very famous in channel discussions related to Economics and Social sciences in general. He is the hon'ble director of IUCAE. As part of the Chief Minister's Eminent Scholars Online Programme for Economics students in Kerala, our PG students actively participated and got a chance to ask questions and interaction with the Resource Person Dr.CP Chandrasekhar, Professor of Economics, JNU, New Delhi. One of our student Stella Marry from 2nd PG got selection to express her queries with the resource person through prior registration. The online programme directly made available to our students by using OHP and all the faculties of PG Dept.of Development Economics whole heartedly made arrangements for the same. Dr. Sarala Gopalakrishnan (Associate Professor& Head, Department of Microbiology) welcomed the guests and participants of the webinar. Dr. K K Anilkumar (Former HoD, Dept. of Microbiology) had given the key note address and introduced the resource person, Dr. Benesh Joseph. Dr. Asha Chacko (Vice Principal, St. Pius X College, Rajapuram) has inaugurated the webinar.Dr. Benesh Joseph, Ph.D, Dr.sc., Emmy Noether Research Group Leader, Institute of Biophysics, Department of Physics, Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany, and an alumnus (1997-2000 Batch) of the Department of Microbiology was the resource person and he delivered the lecture on Membrane transport Biophysics. Dr. Vinod.N.V (Assistant Professor, St. Pius X College, Rajapuram) expressed the vote of thanks for the program. The webinar ended at 4.PM. Around 80 participants including students and faculty members from various colleges of Kannur University, alumni members of the Dept of Microbiology from various foreign countries and also from India had attended the program. Feedback was collected from the participants upon completion of the program. Printable e-certificates were given to all the participants those who had attended the webinar.

Mr. Ajith Kumar K(Head, Department of Physics, St. Pius X College, Rajapuram)has given the introduction talk to the program and welcomed the resource person. Dr. George Mammen (Principal, St. Pius X College, Rajapuram) inaugurated the session. The resource person for the webinar, Dr. Binukumar G was an eminent scientist from Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bangalore. He shared his knowledge and research results on matter and radiation that exists in the space with the curious minds of the participants. The spectrum of participants includes graduate students, post graduate students, research scholars and faculties from various science discipline. Nearly 130 participants were there on this program and among them, around 30 participants are from outside the state/country. Further, the participantshave actively taken part in the discussion section on the talk. It seems, the participants have deeply studied and delivered the scientific and technological aspects of different astrophysical matter and devices. Finally, Dr. Monisha P.J. (Asst. Department of Management Studies inaugurated the association EMPRESARIO 2K20 for this academic year 2019-20 on 03-02-2020 at college auditorium. We have started our inaugural function with prayer song. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Akhil Thomas (Assistant Professor ,Department of Management Studies) . He explained the meaning of the word EMPRESARIO in his speech. After that Mr. Biju Joseph (HOD, Department of Management Studies) addressed the audience. He is an Alumnus of our department. After that we have distributed the scholarship for the best five students in each class in our department,which had proposed by the alumni . Then we conducted a seminar on Career Opportunities taken by Sri. Dinu K V(Senior Manager, Godreg &Boyce Mfg Co Ltd) .He is Also an alumni of our department .He expressed his college experience during the seminar .Ms Athira (Association Secretary ) delivered the vote of thanks and the function successfully ended up with National Anthem.
Department of Microbiology had conducted a One day seminar on Current Trends in Microbial Genomics on 27.01.2020 at St. Pius X College, Rajapuram. The inaugural session started at 10.30 AM . The function was inaugurated by our Principal Dr. Sr. Marykutty Alex. Felicitations were given by Dr. R. Satheesh Kumar, Vice Principal and Head, PG Dept. of Economics and Lt. A student-alumni interaction took place in college auditorium under the auspicious of management studies department. Mr Mithun Baby first rank holder, Kerala Public Service Commission examination for civil police officer, who is a proud alumnus of management studies department, interacted with students. In his class he talked about the importance of getting a government job. He also shared his experience in cracking PSC examination. Mr Biju Joseph, Head of management studies introduced Mr Mithun Baby to the students. The class was very much useful. The students who are preparing for PSC examinations found the class very helful. Manini (Women Cell-KSWDC), NSS and NCC of the college conducted a Blood Donation Camp in the college on 21/1/2020 from 10 am to 2pm. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. (Sr.) Marykutty Alex (Principal). Blood Bank of Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, Deralakatte, Mangaluru collected the blood. More than 100 students registered. About 62 students and 2 staff donated the blood.
Keeping in view to reduce the use of plastic products, to promote recycling of used pens, and to make awareness among the students and the society about the harmful effects of plastics; Green Kerala Mission introduced a Pen-Friend Project in Kerala. The Bhoomitrasena, in association with N.S.S unit., St. Pius X College, Rajapuram has collected nearly 24 kg of used pens from the students as well as from the staff and handed over to the Kanjhangad Sub-collector Mr. Arun Kumar Vijayan on January 09; 2020. The presence of Green Kerala Mission- Kasaragode district co-ordinator Mr. M.P. Subramanyan, Hosdurg Tehsildar-Mr. Maniraj, College N.S.S. Co-ordinator-Dr. N. V. Vinod and college Bhoomitrasena Co-ordinator Ms. Parvathi made the handing over ceremony more blissful.

NSS Seven day camp held at Kottody GHSS from 20/12/2019 to 26/12/2019. Dr. Mukundan Nair G , Principal GHSS Kottody Inaugurated the camp. Many programs were organized for the volunteers. Solar eclipse watch was one among them. Kallar Panchayath president and members visits the camp and distribute sweets for the volunteers.
The formation of the English Club, “The House of English” was conducted on 13/19/2019 at 1:30 PM in the reading room of the college library. The club aims at improving the English language skills of the students. Ms. Anupriya, Department of English welcomed the gathering. Dr. Satheesh Kumar, Vice Principal of the college and Dr. George Mamman, Department of Hindi spoke to the students. Science Club, in association with Physics Department, St. Pius X College,Rajapuram has conducted the ‘Energy Conservation Day Awareness programme’ to mark the‘Energy Conservation Day’celebration at the college on 13th December 2019. The awareness section was inaugurated by Dr. Sr. Marykutty Alex, the Principal of the college. Ms. Parvathy. E (Convener, Science Club) given the awareness talk to the students participated. Along with Ms. Parvathi E, Dr.Monisha P J and Dr.Shiju Abraham given the necessary tips to the students which could help them to bring the energy consumption down at the campus as well as at the home. Further, the energy conservation oath was taken by the students under the leadership of Mr. Jyothish, second DC physics student. Students gave brief energy conservation talk in different class rooms to spread the awareness throughout the campus. Along with this, students were made in different squad to check whether the switches in the class rooms are OFF during the intervals. Finally, students are entitled with an energy conservation assignment to reduce the electricity bill during the next four months in their homes.
The staff and students of all the department of St. Pius X College Rajapuram, has taken a special pledge in account with World Disabled Day on 12 December 2019, which is celebrated to promote compassion and acceptance of disability issues and provide support for the self-respect, rights and better living of disabled persons as per the direction from Kannur University and Govt of Kerala. Dr. Sr. Marykutty Alex, Principal has delivered the pledge at 10.30 am on 12 November 2019, and the students and staff members of all the departments have repeated the pledge in their respective class rooms.

Eminent amateur astronomer Mr. Prabhakaran Kovoor led the seminar and thereafter guided the solar specs assembling workshop. As part of Silver Jubilee Celebrations, Fr. Joseph Puthenpurakal engaged students and parents with two different training sessions on 8th November 2019. Students' training session was between 10 am to 11am. Fr. Joseph Puthenpurakal trained parents from 11.30 am to 1 pm on the topic 'Parenting'. 315 parents attended the programme.
As part of the year long Jubilee celebrations of the college, the students under the initiative of ED club organized a mega student market. Various departments set up different stalls exhibiting various products such as home grown vegetables, fruits and home made snacks. The parents, teachers, non teaching staff and students participated in the program actively. The students earned a gross amount of 35000 rupees as sales revenue. The programme was officially inaugurated by Rev Fr Joseph Puthenpurackal OFM, a renowned speaker and spiritual guide in the presence of Rev Fr George Puthuparambil,the local manager, Fr Dino Kummanikkattu the bursar of the college and Rev Sr Mathukutty Alex the principal of the college. The event was aimed at 'motivating the students to basic skills of sales and encourage them to become job creators instead of job seekers' said Dr Siji Cyriac, the ED Club coordinator of the college.

Basic Life Support (BLS) is a level of first-aid resuscitation that can be used in emergency situations until victims are placed into the care of medical professionals.

Womens Club – Manini - & Counselling club of St. Pius X College conducted a mega counseling on 13 August 2019. The programme was done in collaboration with Snehitha – Gender help desk, Kanhangad. The one day programme was inaugurated by college Principal Dr. Sr. Marykutty Alex. Councelling sessions were conducted by four counselors at a time. Through this programme many students were able to identify their week points and could rectify it. It was a very helpful and motivating programme. The scientific session started with the talk of Dr. Denoj Sebastian, Assistant Professor, Dept.of Life sciences, University of Calicut. Dr. K.K. Anilkumar, Managing Director, Areena Hygiene solutions,Kozhikode and Dr. Suchithra. T.V, Associate Professor, NIT Calicut were the other resource persons. This State level seminar was aimed to benefit UG and PG students, faculties, and research scholars. The state level seminar covered all important aspects of Intellectual Property Rights including discoveries of novel product and its Patents, Trademarks etc. During the valedictory function, Dr. Asha Chacko, Vice Principal and head, Dept. Students and faculties from the department of computer science visited St Joseph's special school chullikkara on 17/06/2019.Social interaction is a cornerstone of the modern college experience so this program helped them to explore etiquette guidelines for interacting with students with disabilities.

The NCC Unit of St. Pius X College conducted world environment day on June 6. This activity were carried out under the dynamic leadership of Lt. Thomas Scaria (Head Department of Computer Science). 36 cadets become a part of it. Every cadets planted one tree for the earth. The Principal of St. Pius X college, inaugurated this activity. Along with environment day cadets cleaned the campus under the Slogan ‘Swatch Bharath’ NSS coordinator Smt. Jincymol Joseph (Dept. of Computer Science), Dr. Satheesh kumar R (HOD of Economics) and Dr. George Mammen (HOD of Hindi) address the activity. It’s a great pleasure that cadets become a part of this nature. The NCC could get involved in a host of this activity that is of immerse use to the cadets as well as to the society.
An Academic retreat for the academic year 2019-20 is held on 24/05/2019 at St Pius X College, Rajapuram. Manager His Excellency Mar Joseph Pandarasseril , Pro Manager Rev. Fr. Second seminar on FOSS was held on 23rd March 2019. The classes were handled by Mr. Mithun A.V, Assistant Professor, Nehru Arts and Science College, Kanhangad, Kasargod, Kerala. The classes were divided into four sessions. Two sessions in the morning and two sessions in the afternoon. The first session was about FOSS Awareness session and free software’s. The second was about Linux file system, Linux Installation. The third was about Permissions, Some Linux commands. The last one was about IPR.

Remarkable achievement for St Pius X College Rajapuram in the Kannur University finearts festival held at NASC kanhangad during feb 6-10. Total 74 students of the institution contested in different events including 7 group and 37 individual items. Kannada Drama won the prize with A grade and Layana of II DC Economics selected as best actress. Other important highlights are Margamkali - II prize with A grade, Parichamuttukali- III prize with A grade, Tabala-II prize with A grade(I DC, Computer Science), Hindi poem writing - III Prize with A grade ( Unnimaya, I DC, Physics). Other events like Yakshaganam, Kolkali, Nadan pattu and Group songs got A grade in the competition.

Competition was conducted in 2 stages first stage was preliminary round conducted on 31/01/2019 where 5 teams out of 10 teams from different departments where selected through an examination of qualifying .The second stage was conducted on 05/02/2019 afternoon 1:30 pm in collage auditorium. The 5 teams competed gone through 4 different rounds ( question answer round, picture identification round, puzzle round and rapid fire) and gained maximum points to win the competition. Jeedash & Yadhu from 3rd DC physics won the first prize in the competition. Anuraj and Amal of 3rd B Com, Nandakumar and Akhil of 2nd physics consecutively 2nd and 3 rd prize.Sri. Santhosh C, Assistant Professor and HOD, Department of Commerce, E.K.N.M. Government College, congratulated the winners and awarded them with cash prizes.
After 24 years of invaluable service to the institution, Dr K K Anilkumar, Associate Professor and the pioneer Head of the Department of Microbiology is retiring from the College. The teaching and non teaching staff, students and alumni of the Department of Microbiology conducted a Farewell Programme on 27/02/2019.

Mr. Sameer Moothedath, Director of Edroots international handled the sessions. In the talk he explained the various opportunities to study in different countries and how/why to select a country. An Extension Training Programme for the women in the locality was organized by the Women Cell of St. Pius X College, Rajapuram at 2o clock on Friday, 3/12/2018. The session was led by Mrs. Daisy Cherickalath, coordinator of Thalasserry Social Service Society, Panathady Branch. Practical demonstration of preparation of three household items ie.,Detergent powder, Dish wash and Hand wash using specific kit, was conducted. Sr. (Dr.) Marykutty Alex, Principal ,St. Pius X College chaired the session. Dr. Shiju Jacob, Assistant coordinator, Women Cell, delivered welcome speech and Ms. Varsha Rajan delivered vote of thanks. Around fifteen members participated in the programme and all of them were interested in preparing these very useful household items.
As a part of Speak for India 2018 debate contest, joinly organized by federal bank and mathrubhumi daily, St Pius X college rajapuram hosted the block level competition on 22-11-2018. Somany contestants from different colleges participated in the event. College union chairman kiran kumar addressed the audience and college principal Dr.Sr. Marykutty Alex felicitated the ceremony. Mushroom cultivation orientation programme for the members of thabore credit union of Thalassery Archdiocese was organised by the microbiology department of St. Pius X College Rajapuram on 24/11/2018. The session was led by Mr. Shelvin T Kuriakose , Lecturer in department of microbiology .Practical demonstration of mushroom bed preparation was also conducted after orientation class .Credit union president Mr Nidhin Chooranolil delivered welcome speech and secretary Mrs. Mary Chirackal delivered vote of thanks .
An Essay Writing Competition on 27th July 2018 on the topic “My Idea of an Ideal Person”. We conducted this programme in collaboration with the Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Kasaragod district. In the competition, Kum. Arya Gireesh, I BBA bagged the first prize of Rs. 1000/-. Second and Third prize scored by the department of BBA and Microbiology respectively. Moreover, the selected essays sent to participate at the state level competition.
ED club was officially inaugurated on MSME day, June 28th 2018, by Mr Jain K , Assistant General Manager, DIC, Kasaragod. Dr K Anil Kumar, the principal, chaired the session. A team of trainers from the District Industrial Centre, Kanhangad handled a session on ‘Entrepreneurship in Kerala’. Around 90 students attended the function.
The ED club, along with the cooperation of BBA department, established in our college a new venture known as ‘Business Incubation Centre’ (BIC). The purpose of this venture is to provide infrastructural and consultation facilities at the BIC for both students and people of the locality for venturing into entrepreneurship. The DIC has offered all governmental support for this venture. It is platform offered by the club, BBA department and DIC, Kasaragod for encouraging entrepreneurship in this area.
The World MSME day was celebrated by the ED Club of the College on 27/06/2018. A Business Incubation Centre was inaugurated by the ED Club with cooperation of the Department of Management Studies and District Industrial Centre, Kasaragod. The Centre aims to offer a platform to the students and local community to start new ventures. All consultancy services will be provided in this platform free of cost. The class was handled by a team from District Industrial Centre, Kasaragod.
Merit day was celebrated on 25th June 2018. The programme had a welcome note from Mr. Shino P.Jose, coordinator of Academic Council. Anisha Jose II BA Economics selected in Kannur University Kabady Team for All India Interuniversity Kabady Championship.Maneeh K P III BA Economics won gold medal in Kannur University Weight Lifting Championship.Viswajith (I Computer Science) and Abdul Rehman won Silver Medal in Kannur University Intercollegiate Weight lifting Championship.Viswajith also selected as Best Physique in Kannur University. Intercollegiate Boxing Championship is to be held at St.Pius X college on 3rd week of February.
