Undergraduate Programs

The BA in Development Economics is a unique program with a strong emphasis on the developmental and applied aspects of economics. Under the newly introduced Four-Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP), students have flexible academic pathways:

  • Three-year BA Development Economics
  • Four-year BA Development Economics Honours
  • Four-year BA Development Economics Honours with Research

A key feature of the FYUGP is the opportunity for students to pursue minor courses from other departments during their first three semesters. This flexibility allows students to customize their educational journey and even change their course of study. Popular pathways include:

  • BA Development Economics with Commerce (Six minor courses from Commerce)
  • BA Development Economics with Management Studies (Six minor courses from Management Studies)
  • BA Development Economics with Commerce and Management Studies (Three minor courses from Commerce and three minor courses from Management Studies)
  • BA Development Economics with Mathematics and Commerce (Three minor courses from Mathematics and three minor courses from Commerce)
  • BA Development Economics with Mathematics and Management Studies (Three minor courses from Mathematics and three minor courses from Management Studies)
  • BA Development Economics with Multi-disciplinary Minors

Postgraduate Programs

The department also offers an MA in Development Economics, a unique postgraduate program with a special focus on developmental aspects of economics
